The Brother Group promotes global employee participation in charity events to support patients in the fight against cancer. In Germany, activities have been carried out since 2014, with locations in Germany and Austria playing a central role. Here, we introduce the “Golden Ring Run” activities in Germany.
How the Activities Began

“Golden Ring Run” originally started as a small-scale event with approximately 60 employees from Brother International Germany (BIG) and around 50 young members of the local soccer club FV Bad Vilbel. It has now grown into a large-scale, popular event that employees and their families look forward to each year.
How the Activities Began

The event is held every June in Bad Vilbel, where BIG’s office is located. People of all ages and circumstances take part together, including those pushing strollers and expectant mothers. The venue features hamburger food trucks and ice cream station creating a warm, community-oriented atmosphere.
Relationship with the Frankfurt Foundation for Children with Cancer

To date, total donations have reached 260,000 euros and have been distributed to several organizations, primarily the Frankfurt Foundation for Children with Cancer. Founded in 1994, the Frankfurt Foundation for Children with Cancer is a public interest foundation dedicated to researching the causes of cancer in children and young people, developing treatments, and improving cure rates. With the belief that protecting future generations is essential, BIG decided to make donations to initiatives for supporting pediatric cancer patients and served as a main sponsor of the foundation from 2014 to 2019 and again from 2024 onward.
The Golden Ring Project as Part of Corporate Culture
Participants have shared comments such as, “Knowing that every step helps children motivated me,” and “It was great that people from different backgrounds could work together.” These comments demonstrate how the activities inspire people and raise awareness of social responsibility.
BIG’s Golden Ring Run activities have continued for more than 10 years and are firmly established not as a one-time effort, but as part of BIG’s corporate culture. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the event was held online or in hybrid formats, allowing the activities to continue with flexibility. Going forward, BIG will continue to work closely with the local community to vigorously advance efforts aimed at conquering cancer.
